Gregg Livesay has been playing guitar for the last 27 years. Starting out on classical music with a
classical instructor, he studied
for three years before moving on to other styles. The one teacher who had the most profound effect on
him was Lou Ubriaco from
Ossing Music Center in Ossining New York. A very gifted and incredible player, Lou taught Gregg privately
for over seven years.
Gregg credits Lou with bringing his playing level to what it is today.
In addition to music, Gregg has also studied the Martial Arts for the last 11 years. Under the direct
instruction of GrandMaster
Min Hoo Hur from Seoul Korea, Gregg earned his 1st degree Black Belt in World Tae kwon Do in 1995. He
was then raised to
assistant instructor and ultimately achieved his 2nd degree Black Belt in 1999. He has also previously
trained in Chinese Kempo
and Judo. Martial Artists like the legendary Bruce Lee have been a great inspiration to Gregg because
he strived to be the best
artist he could be. As in anything in life, being the best you can is the greatest form of personal
expression. |
