| History of Livesay |
LIVESAY was formed in 1991 after Gregg Livesay grew weary of joining other
peoples projects. The band gelled quickly, recorded a demo tape in a small studio and shopped
it around in the local club scene
to book shows. This simple tape was so well received that LIVESAY was asked to open for guitarist Steve
Morse at the World
Stage in May of 1991. It began a tradition of high profile shows that continues today. In March 1992,
LIVESAY recorded their
second demo tape, this time in a better facility. This four song demo would be named "Live &
Let Rock," containing three new
songs. The band took off and the list of national acts LIVESAY played with grew to include Britny Fox,
Danger Danger,
Dangerous Toys, Spread Eagle, Trixter, Leslie West, American Angel, Non-Fiction, Gregg Howe, and SteelHeart.
Interviews on
local college radio stations, reviews in magazines as well as headlining their own shows filled the
next few years for the band. |
